Tuesday Announcements 5/20: Kilby Block Party Success, Bike Brew Tour this Saturday, and This Week's Flow Haus Guest

Erik Nilsson

Warm weather is making a comeback, and so is your weekly roundup of everything that matters in our community! We're fresh off an incredible weekend at Kilby Block Party where the lineup delivered unforgettable performances despite the chilly temperatures. From New Order's classic hits to Beach House's dreamy soundscapes, Weezer's nostalgic energy, and Justice's mind-blowing closing set that had everyone dancing – the festival proved worth braving the cooler weather.

Looking for your next weekend adventure? Mark your calendar for this Saturday, May 24th, when we'll be hosting our Bike and Brews Tour starting at the Bike Collective. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy the returning warm weather while exploring our local brew scene in good company. Head over to our Instagram for all the details you need to join us for this community ride.

We're particularly excited about our Thursday podcast release featuring Mitch Matthew – a truly fascinating individual whose life journey has taken unexpected turns. Born and raised in Portland before becoming a wide receiver at BYU and later joining the NFL, Mitch then pivoted to entrepreneurship with his pest control business. Now, he's launching Flow Haus in Pleasant Grove, creating a space where people can experience cold plunging and saunas while building meaningful connections. His vision of creating community around wellness practices speaks to the power of shared experiences in elevating our collective vibrations. And don't miss Saturday's release of part two with Cameron and Ying Nance – one of the most compelling stories we've featured to date! Join us this week as we continue exploring the incredible people and events that make our community special.

What is up everybody and welcome back to another Tuesday update. I am your host of the Small Lake City Podcast, eric Nilsson, and a few updates for you this week. First and foremost, I hope everybody had a blast at Kilby Block Party. I know I did, from New Order to Beach House to Weezer to Justice's amazing closing set. I had an absolute blast. It was a little chilly, but if that's the worst thing that happened, then it was a pretty damn good weekend in my experience.

But in case you also need something coming up this weekend, then Saturday we have our Bike and Brews Tour coming up, starting Saturday the 24th, beginning at the Bike Collective. Check Instagram for more details, excited to have you there for that. And lastly want to announce this week's guest From being born and raised in Portland to playing as a wide receiver at BYU, joining the NFL, starting his own pest control business and now starting his own new business called Flow House. We have Mitch Matthew on the podcast, so his life has a lot of different points of perspective to it, but he's most excited about his new business, flow House, down in Pleasant Grove, bringing people together not only to cold plunge and sauna, but to do it together, to feel higher vibrations and connect and build community around it. So that will be releasing this Thursday with the new podcast release schedule wherever you prefer to listen.

Make sure you check it all out. Enjoy a great week as the warm weather comes back and I will see you Saturday.
