What is up everybody? Welcome back to another Tuesday Update. I am your host of the Small Lake City Podcast, eric Nilsen. First things first. If you haven't listened to the most recent episode with Preston Cochran, please do so. Great guy who's doing some amazing things in Salt Lake with the Other Side Village, as well as supporting a lot of the Other Side initiatives that you may have seen from Other Side Movers, other Side Donuts, other Side side thrift stores, other side academy and so forth.

Homelessness is something in Salt Lake that most people agree isn't doing better and feel like there isn't much of a great solution in sight. So we talk a lot about that. Talk about a little bit of the controversy around it, about projects taking too long and not seeing the results that some people would have hoped by now. But Preston talks about that and hope is in the future and a lot of recent new developments on how well that project is going. Second, this week is the last week for the state fair, so make sure to make that a priority. It's always fun to see how many people come out for that, as well as all the good food that shows up. Eat a couple of deep fried Oreos and some funnel cake and then wheel me out of there that shows up, eat a couple deep fried Oreos and some funnel cake and then wheel me out of there. But it's going to be a great time. I think I'm going to go swing by on Saturday, so if you see me, come say hello.

Also, this week's guest. So this week we have a woman by the name of Sherry Jensen. Now Sherry is a economics professor at Salt Lake Community College. She's gotten her PhD in economics from Clemson and is an amazing professor. But also she is the director of a nonprofit under the Junior League called Women Helping Women. It is a nonprofit organization helping women, taking control back over their lives and helping them in these transitions and truly helping them where they stand. So a lot of really great conversations around that. They're going to be the beneficiary of an event coming up with positions and truly helping them where they stand.

So a lot of really great conversations around that. They're going to be the beneficiary of an event coming up with a lace med spas on September 18th called the pink event, where you can get 70% off of some of the procedures that you do. Botox injections and units are going to be a lot less expensive than they usually are, but you're going to have to book ahead of time, so make sure to do that. A lot less expensive than they usually are, but you're going to have to book ahead of time, so make sure to do that at a lacecom or 801-49-LASER, so make sure to do that ahead of time so you can benefit from that and give back to some great organizations in the meantime. So they'll be releasing this Saturday wherever you listen to podcasts and on YouTube. So make sure to look out for that. Make sure to stop by the fair and, yeah, have a great week and I will see you Saturday.
