What is up everybody and welcome back to another Tuesday update on the Small Lake City Podcast. As you probably don't by now, I'm your host, eric Nilsen, but we actually do have a good amount of updates this week. First, I'm sure everybody heard the news, but the Arizona Coyotes are coming to Utah. It's official we're getting our own NHL team. I, for one, am very excited about this. I've seen so many friends and family become hockey fans, especially in places like Vegas and Seattle that have gotten teams recently, and I know that Salt Lake is a huge sports town and I think we are going to soak it up like a sponge. We've already had a ton of season pre-sale tickets, so I think it's going to be an amazing thing to happen to our community, especially as we think about the MLB and Olympics coming forward.
Speaker 1:Lots of sports excitement, which is the perfect segue into our guest this week. So I wanted to move this episode up because we cover all things sports. The guest is Porter Larson. He is an executive producer and host on ESPN 700, the radio talk show highlighting all of the Utah sports. He has a great perspective, he follows sports, is passionate about sports and we cover all of the hot topics, everything from NHL team coming to Utah, a potential MLB team coming to Utah.
Speaker 1:What's going to change with Utah being in the Big 12, especially with BYU being in the Big 12? What does this all mean for the Olympics potentially coming in 2034? And how is this magic man, ryan Smith, making it all happen behind the scenes and look like it's no effort to him at all? So if you're a sports fanatic, there's a lot of topics for you. If you are a Utah fan, cougars fan, jazz fan, olympics fan, hockey fan, baseball fan, there's something for you. So if you're confused at all about what's going on in the sports world in Utah, we're going to clarify everything very quickly.
Speaker 1:If you know what's going on and want a little different perspective, this is here for you too, so come join in. I'm excited to talk more and we'll release this one on Saturday, but make sure you get ready for it. So excited to have this one go live. There's gonna be full video on YouTube, so make sure to check it out there. Porter's a super awesome guy born and raised here, born up in the Camas area and loves all things outside, and it runs in his blood, actually, no pun intended, so make sure to check it out and find out why. But I will see you on Saturday. See you there.
